TDP Scripts

Using a TDP script is the easiest way to start contacting voters in VAN. TDP has several default options that are explained in detail below. However, you are not able to edit or make a copy of a TDP script on your own, and you should submit a help ticket if you need a copy.

If you just want to view or reference a TDP script, you can create a Virtual Phone bank, assign a TDP script to it, then open that VPB, as if you were beginning to make calls, to view the script! You can use this method to view the TDP script language and make your own in a pinch.

Below is a short introduction to the currently shared default scripts and when to utilize them.

Once you're more comfortable with creating scripts, you'll want to try to create a Branched Script.

Currently available TDP scripts

  • COVID Vaccine + VBM App Outreach: Useful for asking if voters need a mail ballot or any assistance obtaining a vaccination.

  • TDP Dems ID Script for Doors or Calls: Easiest and quickest script to get started with if the goal is to determine whether a voter supports Democrats. There are several additional options, including Infrequent Voters and Biden/Harris that include additional lines to ID less reliable voters or supporters of President Biden.

  • TDP GOTV Script for Doors or Calls: Best script for ensuring folks get out to vote! We advise using this one closer to Election Day, however.

  • TDP GOTV Script for Lit Drops: Best script for managing literature drops, with presets to ensure that canvassers can select "Lit Dropped" for people who were not actually contacted, rather than "Not Home" or leaving them blank.

  • Volunteer Recruitment: Easy premade script to ask likely Democrats if they are interested in volunteering.

  • VBM Application/Ballot Chase: These scripts are best for contacting voters who have requested either a VBM application or their mail-in ballot to ensure they've filled out the correct forms and have mailed in their information.
