Overview
A VAN admin has several different types of responsibilities:
User creation
Sharing best practices and strategy among the members
Distributing phone banks, canvasses, and other voter contact activityMiniVAN commits
Monitoring VAN usage
Enforcing security norms
Responsibilities differ depending on your committee type (e.g., campaign or county party)
Who is an admin
A singular admin that is chosen by the committee, varies
Campaign - candidate, the campaign manager or even the field director
County party - typically either the County Chair or somebody else that the County Chair has designated the VAN admin

What should the admin be doing?
Campaign
User creation - Creating all of the accounts for staffers, fellows, volunteers, and anybody else who needs that access
Sharing the best practices among the users - Making sure that everybody is clear on the campaign strategy and the current priorities depending on the time we are in the cycle
Overseeing the creation and targeting for phone banks and canvasses
MiniVAN commits - Committing canvass data back into VAN (details here)
User support - Monitoring the usage, debugging, providing support to your users, monitoring exports, and making sure that everybody knows how to use VAN and is using VAN the way it should be used for your campaign
County party
User creation - Creating all of the accounts for precinct chairs, club leaders, and other activists
Sharing the best practices among the users - TDP targets and the county party goals for this cycle
Overseeing the creation and targeting for phone banks and canvasses

User support - Monitoring the usage, debugging, providing support to your users, monitoring exports, and making sure that everybody knows how to use VAN and is using VAN the way it should be used for your campaign
